Disclosures

GigLedger has two possible sources of income: affiliate commissions and advertising. This page sets out how each one works and what it does not affect.

SourceHow it worksCost to youEffect on entries
Affiliate commissionsA partner may pay GigLedger when you sign up or buy through a linkNo extra costNone
AdvertisingAds may appear on pagesNo costNone

Certain links on GigLedger are affiliate links: a sign-up or purchase made through one may earn GigLedger a referral commission from the partner. The price to you is unchanged.

Each such link is coded rel="sponsored", which identifies it to search engines as paid. Any entry containing one carries a disclosure line above its text.

Independence of entries

No platform can purchase a recommendation. One that pays a commission is assessed on the same figures as one that doesn’t: its fees, the effective hourly rate it leaves you and its payment terms. Commissions don’t change verdicts or the numbers in a table, and a platform that pays one still gets a poor verdict when its numbers warrant it.

Advertising

Advertising, including ads served by Google, may appear on GigLedger pages. Advertisers neither select topics nor influence what an entry says. How advertising cookies work, and how to opt out of personalized ads, is covered in the privacy notice.
